In "Square Pegs" there was the trademark "Wife Biscuit" and now in "Life Made Simple", there are mango glutinous rice balls dessert.

Jessica and Roger went to a bakery to learn how to bake a cake and in the process, made a mess of each other's face. After they finished baking the cake, Jessica realised that none of them had washed their hands before they stepped into the kitchen.

When the glutinous rice balls were mentioned, both Jessica and Roger laughed. Jessica said: "The thought of it is terrifying. Filming was made very real and I had to eat those made from dyed flour. Roger was very lucky, he only had to prepare them but I had to try eating them!"

Jessica filming promotional clips for TVB celebratory serial "Life Made Simple"

Jessica was seen at Temple Street a day earlier filming promotional clips for TVB celebratory serial "Life Made Simple". This time she was doing it alone as her "lou gong chai"/hubby Roger Kwok was in China. As the filming took place at the time of heavy human traffic, Jessica was a little worried initially. But she was at ease once she reached the setting. When there was filming at a fortune-teller's stall, it attracted a crowd who gathered to watch. Jessica indicated that she liked to visit Temple Street in the past. She said: " Last time it was very crowded, and I liked to buy "Ni Tou D Man Zuk Ye" which means she likes to buy "The cultural/traditional things here" .but will forget after listening. Usually I will believe those that are good predictions but I will not believe those that are bad. I will get my fortune told once a year. (Is it about marriage?) No, usually when I am dating I don't ask about marriage. But if I am not dating I will ask about it. (When is the suitable year for marriage for you?) This year and next year. Can listen and believe but don't be too obsessed about it. Must analyse it for yourself". "Life Made Simple" is the celebratory TVB serial. When asked if she had placed high hopes on this serial, she said "Ngo Dei Ni D Tou Hai Lou Pat Pat, Mat Ye Yi Tou Jeep Sao" which means "Lou Pat Pat like us will endure anything already" But the producer and directors have said it's good and they are not the type who would lie. Although viewership is important, what is more pressing is the word-of-mouth/ what people say about it." Jessica added that in "Triumph in the Skies 2", she would take on the role of a pilot. She only knew that Lisa Wang would also be in it. The male partner was still unknown. -------The end------

Jessica has broken the law before

Yesterday Jessica Hsuan appeared on Dodo Cheng’s law show, Justice for All, for the first time. Jessica acted as a judge in the series, Just Love, so will act like a "wife judge". Jessica is very pleased that she got the chance to play a judge because through this she has learnt a lot of things regarding law. Jessica was asked if she has ever broken that law, Jessica replied, "Yes I have. When I take my dogs for a walk, I do not usually put a leash on them. Even though I know it is wrong but I believe my dogs won’t bite people."

Yesterday Jessica Hsuan went to a function about dogs and she said," At home I have 6 dogs, but there's only two that I can bring outside, the others are too old lah! When they're outside their feet shakes." When she was asked about her taking a vacation earlier she said, "During that vacation, I gained alot of weight, so now I'm working hard to lose some. Now theres not one meal that I'm full with and when I see chocolate, I dont dare to eat it, but I couldn't hold it back and ate a piece. Earlier when I went to Paris, Holland, and England for vacation, I didnt dare to eat crazily but when I went to Japan, I couldn't hold it back because I love Japanese food." Jessica Hsuan, who recently went to Australia for her brother's wedding ceremony, also went to Hokkaido for vacation afterwards.Yesterday, Jessica was one of the many celebrities at the "Hong Kong Outstanding Dog" event, alongside her beloved dog. Jessica expresses that while in Australia, she reunited with a group of her best friends, some even said that she was fat. Therefore, when she went on the trip to Hokkaido, Japan, she did not dare to eat too much, even though she loves Japanese food. Soon, Jessica will be preparing for her upcoming production "Triumph in the Skies II" and she says that she will lose weight because of the hard work while filming. Moreover, Jessica reveals that she has a total of six dogs, but only two are allowed to go outdoors. She said the the four other dogs are too old.

Webmaster comment: I personally don't think that Jessica had put on any weight. She still looks as beautiful as usual. Jessica, you looks gorgeous and prettier each time you appear on news, you don't look like you had put on any weight.

Message: Hi fans,

Sorry for informing you now, but I shall be attending a dog award presentation today. The event begins at 2:30pm, but I'll be there at 3:30pm. Venue: 愉景新城-購物商塲第一層天幕大堂. The whole event ends at 4:30pm. I guess maybe I'll see some of you there. The weather is quite terrible. Might be a good idea to stay home. luv, Jessica

Jessica had earlier gone to Sydney in Australia, to attend a younger male cousin's wedding. She also took the opportunity to tour all the places to recharge. The activity that made her most excited was climbing the big Sydney bridge. She said laughingly that this was the only time in her life that she had made such a bold attempt. She explained:"I usually don't exercise and I have a fear of heights. Although the bridge-climbing has adequate safety measures like the special safety belts, climbing to the higher point struck fear in my heart. In the end, my whole group of friends encouraged me. With the attitude of 'nevermind if I die', I tried lor." Climbing the big Sydney bridge costs $1,000 per person but Jessica said frankly that it's worth it. "..........(They're good at making money because they do not allow climbers to bring their cameras along. You need to pay to take photos up there.)... the view up there is very beautiful. Must try this once in a lifetime." At her cousin's wedding, Jessica said frankly that no relatives rushed her into marriage. She said laughingly that "everyone has given up. Basically my love life is 'zero' but they joked that they hoped the next family gathering (referring to wedding) would be initiated by me."

Thanks to NSF for great translation.

Self-professed "Lazy bum", Jessica hardly goes for facials and masks on regular days. However, she insists: "As long as a woman is unmarried, she has to maintain a glowing complexion". The weather has turned cool in the early autumn; any oversight in the skincare regime and the dry weather will make you pay for it with your smooth and tender complexion! Fine lines and spots will appear easily in dry and tired skin. Jessica understands this principle very well, which is why she has made adequate skincare preparations and is facing the change of season with ease. In fact, many big brands are now aggressively marketing new anti-wrinkle products. Jessica has finished filming TV serials in Jul and will start again only in January next year. So she is currently resting; no wonder she looks especially dazzling. When she recalls the late-night repeat telecast of "A step into the Past", Jessica candidly says that her current complexion is much better than her complexion then. She says: " One of my friends has told me that a woman over the age of 25 has to keep (maintain). She even uses apples as a warning example: If an apple which is full of wrinkles is wrapped in cling-wrap or other methods to repair its appearance, nothing can be fixed. What is critical is keeping (maintenance) and prevention." Jessica, who possesses a cheerful, straight-talking attitude like a man, gets expression lines due to work or lack of sleep. After applying foundation, her expression lines has little place to hide. That is why Jessica, who usually only takes care of basic cleansing, applying eye cream and moisturiser, and who hardly goes for facials, has started using products that reduce fine lines. Because the product only needs to be used morning and evening, after cleansing and before moisturising to achieve its expected results, it has attracted much liking from this "lazy bum". As September approaches, many women will be troubled by the change of season and will start scouting for new skincare products to save their increasingly dry skin. But to Jessica who has combination skin, she is not too worried. She suggests that everyone uses more moisturising masks and creams; drink plenty of water; eat more salads, fruits and vegetables; and cut down on tid-bits and fried food.

'Ah Wong' is Anniversary Series TVB has announced its three Anniversary Series for this year as "The Charm Beneath", "Legend of Ah Wong" and "Mr Chan of Foshan". Each series has its own distinction and TVB is confident that they will do well. Originally, "Mr Chan" was due to begin airing after "Revolving Doors of Vengeance" finishes airing on 26th September, but as some lines need to be recorded again and they are waiting for lead Yuen Biao to return from Canada, then this has been postponed and "Disappearance" will ba aired in its place, starring Michael Miu, Melissa Ng and Bernice Liu. Lead star of "Ah Wong" Roger Kwok was very happy that his series has been selected as an anniversary show and this makes him even more excited than winning an award because this proves that his series is high quality. Recording the theme song with Jessica Hsuan earlier, the support of TVB Production Department Assistant Chief Tommy Leung has allowed him to show off once again the great personality of Ah Wong and he is very pleased about this. He believes that the audience will not be let down.

Jessica and a few other female artistes (whom i dont know their english names) attended a fashion show at 6.30pm. Regarding a report that Sonija Kwok (wrong spelling i think) relieved herself in the open while filming in China, Jessica laughingly said that this is perfectly normal. If she knows that she is going to deserted, open spaces for filming and toilets are far away, instead of wasting time, she will also use the fastest way to settle this problem, afterall everyone has to answer nature's call. Regarding Sonija's privacy being secretly photographed, Jessica urged everyone to let her go, maybe everyone was thinking of the overall situation and in order not to slow down the progress, the fastest way was used to settle the problem. Jessica and Sunny Chan just went to Paris and Holland to promote "Just Love". Thereafter, she went to England to visit old friends. She will be flying to Australia this Sunday (?) to attend a younger male cousin's wedding. She will be staying there for approximately one week. Jessica pointed out that among people of marriageable age in her family clan, she is the only unmarried person left. But her family members do not rush her into marriage. After her Australia trip, she will be going to Hokkaido for a tour. She will start filming "Triumph in the Sky 2" in January next year.

Title: Jessica in the making of Estee Lauder ad

Women dream of having their faces untouched by the ravages of time. This requires the use of skincare products. Estee Lauder has engaged Jessica for a personal demonstration and filmed the advertisement on the new range of skincare products -Perfectionist (CP). When the reporter reached the venue, Jessica was ready for filming. Actually jessica has always been a user of this brand and she told the reporter that this job was a great one. Not only would she receive remuneration, she would also get product sponsorship. The entire filimg process was not difficult, she was exceptionally happy with it. Jessica received fabulous treatment, with more than 10 supporting people who served her in the filming. There were even models who tested the lightings for her, cutting down on her waiting time. The advertisement was completed in 6 hours. Jessica kept saying that it was not difficult but the reporter was dazzled from watching the filimg. Because the advertisement wanted to bring out the theme "Jessica is pretty from 360 degrees", it required her to sit on a rotating wheel and turn 360 degrees. She also had to turn her neck left and right. While the reporter was watching her doing this, jessica joked that " I am worried that I will get wrinkles from twisting my neck here and there. When I go home to apply the anti-wrinkle essence, there won't be this problem anymore!" Jessica has many different expressions everyday and has laughter that is louder than most people. Thus, expression lines have appeared on her face. She said "after using this anti-wrinkle essence, my expression lines have been reduced in a short period of one month. In future, I won't be afraid of laughing louder or having more expressions." The director has requested her to appear very gentle in the ad, so everyone will see a very different Jessica. Title: Jessica stayed one night at Disneyland with family

Although Hong Kong's Disneyland will not officially open until next Monday, many famous people and artistes cannot wait to visit this place. A DJ was there to work and play while Jessica took the lead in bringing her family to stay in Disney's hotel. She also praised the hotel for its good service; both the young and old were very happy. At about 2pm yesterday, jessica was seen hand in hand with an elderly leaving the unoffically-open Hong Kong Disneyland. The reporter asked if she had taken the older generation there to play, Jessica said: "This is the nanny who has brought me up. Last night, I stayed at Disneyland's Tim hotel with my family. Its facilities and service are great. Both adults and children have had a happy time playing. To have a Disneyland in Hong Kong is a grand event. So the whole family came for a tour." When asked if she felt that the size of the Hong Kong's Disneyland is too small, Jessica replied: "I've been to the one in the US. But this time, I din't manage to cover the whole place due to the hot weather. I'll leave earlier with the older folks." Half an hour after jessica left, the reporter saw a group of DJs who were there to do outdoor broadcasting. Thanks a lot to New Singapore Fan for the translation.

HK fans shall be able to catch "Legend of Ah Wong" on 24 October, 2005. Jessica Hsuan and Roger Kwok have finished recording the theme song for this serial.

NEWS ON AUGUST 26, 2005

TVB's current top leads jessica and Sunny Chan appeared on the 28th at the 13th Zone chinese city's "Happy Family Gala". They attracted a few hundred fans who caught wind of it and rushed to catch the appearance of the big celebrities. Pretty Jessica was super popular and became the focus of the photographic lenses brought by the hot babes and hunks. TVB, together with Teochew Clan Association, organised this "Happy Family Gala" in the 13th zone on an open field. There were more than 10 games booths, providing many different types of family games. This attracted many Chinese who also brought their children along to enjoy family-togetherness. It was a day of soaring temperature with the scorching sun. Many were drenched in sweat, with the elderly proclaiming that they could not take the heat. Only the young maintained their spirit and enthusiasm, especially the contestants of "Minutes to Fame" who performed on the stage. They danced, sang and enjoyed themselves very much. The champion was Miss Jiang. The 13th zone's First Deputy Mayor Mr Gu, who was busy with work, attended the fair for a short while. He urged everyone not to forget to show compassion while enjoying themselves. Together, they observed a minute of silence to pray for the 17 victims who were killed in the fire that broke out in the early hours on the 26th. (I will skip the rest of the para on the names of other personnel present). Playing the roles of husband and wife in "Just Love", Jessica and Sunny are very popular among the local and overseas fans. After fans' endless rounds of demands for them, they finally appeared on the stage. First, they sang a duet "Qing Hua kai", followed by individual singing of various theme songs from TVB's serials. The English oldie "Top of the World" sung by Jessica was of a high standard and even better than her Cantonese songs. She is aptly described as a beautful person with a sweet voice. Although jessica was not in heavy make-up, it did not lessen her beauty and sweetness. She wore a short black dress and matched it with long boots. With her hair tied in a pony tail, she emanated an air of immense youth. She looked totally different compared with her image in "Just Love" as a strict, tough-woman judge. As Jessica's figure is just right, she does not have the habit of going on a slimming diet. In fact, she is just the opposite- she is a lady who loves to eat! She revealed that her greatest reward from her Paris' trip was her daily indulgence in French food. Even the raw steak (steak tartare) that most Asians shy away from is Jessica's greatest love! She told her fans in Paris that they are really lucky to be living in Paris. One thing that deserves mention is that among Jessica's endlessly-screaming fans below the stage, there was quite a number of young fans who were not Cantonese. Some of them were from the tropics; some were Shanghainese. Although they could not really understand Cantonese, they were ardent followers of the Hong Kong pop culture. When Jessica spoke Mandarin occasionally, they loudly protested below the stage for her to revert to speaking Cantonese. Thus, this proves that for Jessica's overseas fans, they have transcended the constraints of language and geography.

NEWS ON AUGUST 26, 2005

'Triumph in the Skies 2' on the Cards TVB has confirmed that it will begin filming the sequel to "Triumph in the Skies" next year, but as they were unable to book time with Francis Ng to reprise his role, Alex Fong Chung Shun will be taking his place and other confirmed cast members will include Jessica Hsuan and Liza Wang. In 2003, the original series was aired, a pilot craze took off, propelling stars Francis Ng, Joe Ma and Flora Chan to greater heights as well as bringing 'S4' Ron Ng, Bosco Wong, Sammul Chan and Kenneth Ma into the spotlight. Following on from this, TVB have always planned to film a sequel with the original cast and crew to revive the public interest, but for the openly materialistic Francis, this was a doomed project from the start, so TVB have had to settle with 'Hong Kong Richard Gere' Alex to take his place. The new show will be filming on location in Moscow and England. Contacting Alex to confirm this, he admitted that TVB has offered him this show and as for whether he will be playing a 'hunky pilot', he laughs: "I thought I would be playing a pilot too, but they have offered me a role of ground staff, I was so disappointed! Unless TVB change the title of the show to 'Triumph in the Skies - The Engineer's Story', then it would be different. My schedule is quite full next year,so I don't know if I can do it, but I am quite interested in the part." Alex also reveals that TVB have also been negotiating a salaried contract with him as well as inviting him to film for them: "I will consider it, but I am used to making my own decisions for things and I am very ambitious. I am quite comfortable with my work at the moment and I don't want to work too hard, so the chances aren't very high." As for Jessica, she confirms that she had agreed to do this series a long time ago because she felt that the love story between Francis and Flora in the last series was very successful. She does not feel any pressure from this and will just treat it like any other job.

NEWS ON AUGUST 25, 2005 Promoting MC6 through APIs Entertainers Jessica Hsuan and Kwok Chun-on appear in a new Government Announcement in the Public Interest (API) that promotes the benefits of free trade and the Sixth World Trade Organisation Ministerial Meeting to be held in Hong Kong in December. This ad will be broadcast next week. Cosmetics company Estee Lauder has always been known to use internationally-renowned models such as Carolyn Murphy, Liya Kebede, as well as international movie actress Elizabeth Hurley and Oscar-winning actress Gywneth Paltrow. It has finally broken this convention by inviting jessica to be its new advertisement model for its "Repair and Protect" range. Estee Lauder's brand manager in Hong Kong indicated that the reasons for inviting jessica are mainly because she is an outstanding actress in Hong Kong and the Chinese region, plus her positive, healthy image which happens to fit the company's image perfectly. In addition, Jessica is personally a supporter of Esteee Lauder. Jessica had earlier completed the photo advertisements and had done lots of preparatory work in capturing the poses adopted by the brand's overseas spokespersons. There were also more than 10 sets of clothes, including one that cost more than $10,000 which is a back-baring long dress to showcase her smooth and fair skin.

Hong Kong actress Jessica Hsuan is newly single, and loving every second of it.The darling of the TVB drama scene split from her orthodonist boyfriend earlier this, but tells Life! that ending the year-long relation "feels okay".Says the 35-year old in crisp english: "I used to really want to get married for a period of time. But now you realise there are too many other things in life other than love."Family, my dogs, friends. When love comes, it comes. When it doesn't it's okay."Things between her and her ex fell apart because "we'r different", says the willowy, british-educated actress who has also been linked to actors Gallen Lo and Dicky Cheung."He enjoys socialising. I enjoy being at home. I'm always out on the job so when I have my own time, I like to have my own private time. He's an orthodontist -he sees kids a lot-that's why he's the opposite."She deflects further questions with a laugh: "Don't find out too much about him. It's in the past."Indeed, there is a mellow air to Hsuan, who was in town last weekend to promote Starhub's cable channel VV Drama and to judge the local version of Hong Kong talent contest Minute To Frame. She last appeared in two TVB series, Just Love (2005) and A Handful Of Love (2004), and recently wrapped up fliming a yet-unnamed sequel to the 2003 drama Square Pegs with co-star Kwok Chun On.Over her 13-year career, she has also nabbed a slew of popularity awards in Hong Kong. But money and career, she now insists, are not everything.Explaining her newfound introspection, she says: "A few friends have been falling seriously ill and it reminds me to focus on other things."Being hospitalised in Zhuozhou in Hebei province, China, with a bout of cholera while shooting A Step Into The Past in 2001 was also an unpleasant wake-up call. She is now taking some time off from the gruelling drama circuit. In the pipe-line though, are skincare endorsements, promotional trips and long-awaited vacations in England and Australia. Acting, she admits, is still a big part of her. Breaking into the movie industry, however, is not on the cards.Neither is she making plans for a post-acting career yet."I've never thought about it. In any case, things change very quickly. There's no point in planning too far ahead."

Jessica went to San Francisco, USA, in end Jul for a concert performance. Upon her return to Hong Kong, she discovered the muscles of both her hands were swollen and this caused her immense pain. It turned out that when she was filming "Legend of Ah Wong" at an outdoor setting in early Jul, she was hit by a small truck and hurt both her hands' muscles and tendons. Now she needs to visit a Chinese chiropractor for external medication and also take Western medicine orally. Jessica said: "I don't know when I will recover." At around noon last Saturday (30 Jul), Jessica was seen alone, with no make-up, at one of the Chinese chiropractic clinics. Although she discovered the reporter raising a camera to take her pictures, she still kept a smile on her face. But she hurriedly stepped inside the clinic without stopping as she wanted to arrive before 12 to take a queue number?(my guess coz i can't read cantonese) for her turn. From what the reporter could see at the place, although Jessica was a public figure, she had to wait like any other patients, for her turn to be treated. Half an hour later, Jessica left the clinic, it ws obvious that her left hand had medication applied on it. Although it was drizzling at that time and having to use an umbrella was not surprising, Jessica used 2 hands to carry the umbrella. Perhaps it was due to her injuries that she could not use too much strength. After this incident, the reporter called up Jessica and learned that she was already hurt in early Jul. At that time, she had just finished the day's outdoor filming for "Legend of Ah Wong" and was chatting with her fans. Suddenly, a small truck reversed and her natural, reflex action was to use her hands to block the truck on its rear window. Although she was not badly hurt at that time, she could feel pain in both hands. She thought it was not a big deal so when she got home that night, she only applied some ointment herself. However, since she came back to Hong Kong from San Francisco, there was a 180-degree change. Jessica said : "Maybe after that flight, the muscles became affected by the air pressure and both my hands became very swollen. I went to see the doctor immediately after i landed in Hong Kong the next day. The doctor said it was the inflammation of the muscles and hand tendons. It was only then that I knew how serious this was. Now I have to see the chinese chiropractor everyday and eat western medicine." Initially, Jessica only accepted treatment using chinese medicine. Now she combines both Chinese and Western's medication. She said: "In the beginning, I needed medication to be applied on both hands but now it depends on their conditions. The Chinese chiropractor pointed out that western medicine can be used together with his treatment. So now I am using acupuncture as well as taking oral western medicine." Regarding the injury from this accident, Jessica angrily said: "Getting hurt is secondary; what I am most dissatisfied with was the driver's attitude which lacked remorse. Now it is in the police's hands, waiting to go to the court. Maybe that particular driver thought that because I am a public figure, I will be afraid of losing "face" and will not turn up in court to press charges. But I am not such a person. I will certainly pursue this." Seriously affected her Life: Now jessica has to see the chiropractor everyday for treatment. In the morning after she is done with washing up, the first thing she has to do is see the doctor. She said: "Because I need to apply the chiropractic medicine for 6 hours, after applying in the morning, it will be removed in the evening. Only then can I bathe. Although I can bathe as per normal, this has affected my life seriously. The chiropractor has reminded me not to exert too much strength with my hands. So even the way I drive now has to change, I cannot place my hands at the top of the steering wheel, but at its sides. In addition, when I take my dogs out, I can only take the obedient ones so that they will not use too much force to pull me. Going to supermarket also requires my family members' help to carry things." But Jessica's biggest headache is her trip in mid Aug with Roger Kwok to Singapore for promotions. During these 3 days of promotions, she will not be able to receive treatment. She said: "Three days is a short time. I will be going to countries in Europe in end Aug for TBVI's promotions which will last 1 to 2 weeks. The doctor actually never said when it will fully recover. I believe it will take a long time."
