Jessica filming promotional clips for TVB celebratory serial "Life Made Simple"

Jessica was seen at Temple Street a day earlier filming promotional clips for TVB celebratory serial "Life Made Simple". This time she was doing it alone as her "lou gong chai"/hubby Roger Kwok was in China. As the filming took place at the time of heavy human traffic, Jessica was a little worried initially. Jessica has broken the law before

Yesterday Jessica Hsuan appeared on Dodo Cheng’s law show, Justice for All, for the first time. Jessica acted as a judge in the series, Just Love, so will act like a "wife judge". Jessica is very pleased that she got the chance to play a judge because through this she has learnt a lot of things regarding law. Jessica was asked if she has ever broken that law, Jessica replied, "Yes I have. When I take my dogs for a walk, I do not usually put a leash on them. Even though I know it is wrong but I believe my dogs won’t bite people."

Jessica had earlier gone to Sydney in Australia, to attend a younger male cousin's wedding. She also took the opportunity to tour all the places to recharge. The activity that made her most excited was climbing the big Sydney bridge. She said laughingly that this was the only time in her life that she had made such a bold attempt. She explained:"I usually don't exercise and I have a fear of heights. Although the bridge-climbing has adequate safety measures like the special safety belts, climbing to the higher point struck fear in my heart. In the end, my whole group of friends encouraged me. Regarding a report that Sonija Kwok (wrong spelling i think) relieved herself in the open while filming in China, Jessica laughingly said that this is perfectly normal. If she knows that she is going to deserted, open spaces for filming and toilets are far away, instead of wasting time, she will also use the fastest way to settle this problem, afterall everyone has to answer nature's call. Pretty Jessica was super popular and became the focus of the photographic lenses brought by the hot babes and hunks. TVB, together with Teochew Clan Association, organised this "Happy Family Gala" in the 13th zone on an open field. There were more than 10 games booths, providing many different types of family games. This attracted many Chinese who also brought their children along to enjoy family-togetherness. It was a day of soaring temperature with the scorching sun. Many were drenched in sweat, with the elderly proclaiming that they could not take the heat. Only the young maintained their spirit and enthusiasm, especially the contestants of "Minutes to Fame" who performed on the stage. They danced, sang and enjoyed themselves very much. The champion was Miss Jiang. The 13th zone's First Deputy Mayor Mr Gu, who was busy with work, attended the fair for a short while. He urged everyone not to forget to show compassion while enjoying themselves. Together, they observed a minute of silence to pray for the 17 victims who were killed in the fire that broke out in the early hours on the 26th. (I will skip the rest of the para on the names of other personnel present). Playing the roles of husband and wife in "Just Love", Jessica and Sunny are very popular among the local and overseas fans. After fans' endless rounds of demands for them, they finally appeared on the stage. First, they sang a duet "Qing Hua kai", followed by individual singing of various theme songs from TVB's serials. The English oldie "Top of the World" sung by Jessica was of a high standard and even better than her Cantonese songs. She is aptly described as a beautful person with a sweet voice. Although jessica was not in heavy make-up, it did not lessen her beauty and sweetness. She wore a short black dress and matched it with long boots. With her hair tied in a pony tail, she emanated an air of immense youth. She looked totally different compared with her image in "Just Love" as a strict, tough-woman judge. As Jessica's figure is just right, she does not have the habit of going on a slimming diet. In fact, she is just the opposite- she is a lady who loves to eat! She revealed that her greatest reward from her Paris' trip was her daily indulgence in French food. Even the raw steak (steak tartare) that most Asians shy away from is Jessica's greatest love! She told her fans in Paris that they are really lucky to be living in Paris. One thing that deserves mention is that among Jessica's endlessly-screaming fans below the stage, there was quite a number of young fans who were not Cantonese. Some of them were from the tropics; some were Shanghainese. Although they could not really understand Cantonese, they were ardent followers of the Hong Kong pop culture. When Jessica spoke Mandarin occasionally, they loudly protested below the stage for her to revert to speaking Cantonese. Thus, this proves that for Jessica's overseas fans, they have transcended the constraints of language and geography.

NEWS ON AUGUST 26, 2005

'Triumph in the Skies 2' on the Cards TVB has confirmed that it will begin filming the sequel to "Triumph in the Skies" next year, but as they were unable to book time with Francis Ng to reprise his role, Alex Fong Chung Shun will be taking his place and other confirmed cast members will include Jessica Hsuan and Liza Wang. In 2003, the original series was aired, a pilot craze took off, propelling stars Francis Ng, Joe Ma and Flora Chan to greater heights as well as bringing 'S4' Ron Ng, Bosco Wong, Sammul Chan and Kenneth Ma into the spotlight. Following on from this, TVB have always planned to film a sequel with the original cast and crew to revive the public interest, but for the openly materialistic Francis, this was a doomed project from the start, so TVB have had to settle with 'Hong Kong Richard Gere' Alex to take his place. The new show will be filming on location in Moscow and England. Contacting Alex to confirm this, he admitted that TVB has offered him this show and as for whether he will be playing a 'hunky pilot', he laughs: "I thought I would be playing a pilot too, but they have offered me a role of ground staff, I was so disappointed! Unless TVB change the title of the show to 'Triumph in the Skies - The Engineer's Story', then it would be different. My schedule is quite full next year,so I don't know if I can do it, but I am quite interested in the part." Alex also reveals that TVB have also been negotiating a salaried contract with him as well as inviting him to film for them: "I will consider it, but I am used to making my own decisions for things and I am very ambitious. I am quite comfortable with my work at the moment and I don't want to work too hard, so the chances aren't very high." As for Jessica, she confirms that she had agreed to do this series a long time ago because she felt that the love story between Francis and Flora in the last series was very successful. She does not feel any pressure from this and will just treat it like any other job.

NEWS ON AUGUST 25, 2005 Promoting MC6 through APIs Entertainers Jessica Hsuan and Kwok Chun-on appear in a new Government Announcement in the Public Interest (API) that promotes the benefits of free trade and the Sixth World Trade Organisation Ministerial Meeting to be held in Hong Kong in December. This ad will be broadcast next week. Cosmetics company Estee Lauder has always been known to use internationally-renowned models such as Carolyn Murphy, Liya Kebede, as well as international movie actress Elizabeth Hurley and Oscar-winning actress Gywneth Paltrow. It has finally broken this convention by inviting jessica to be its new advertisement model for its "Repair and Protect" range. Estee Lauder's brand manager in Hong Kong indicated that the reasons for inviting jessica are mainly because she is an outstanding actress in Hong Kong and the Chinese region, plus her positive, healthy image which happens to fit the company's image perfectly. In addition, Jessica is personally a supporter of Esteee Lauder. Jessica had earlier completed the photo advertisements and had done lots of preparatory work in capturing the poses adopted by the brand's overseas spokespersons. There were also more than 10 sets of clothes, including one that cost more than $10,000 which is a back-baring long dress to showcase her smooth and fair skin.

Hong Kong actress Jessica Hsuan is newly single, and loving every second of it.The darling of the TVB drama scene split from her orthodonist boyfriend earlier this, but tells Life! that ending the year-long relation "feels okay".Says the 35-year old in crisp english: "I used to really want to get married for a period of time. But now you realise there are too many other things in life other than love."Family, my dogs, friends. When love comes, it comes. When it doesn't it's okay."Things between her and her ex fell apart because "we'r different", says the willowy, british-educated actress who has also been linked to actors Gallen Lo and Dicky Cheung."He enjoys socialising. I enjoy being at home. I'm always out on the job so when I have my own time, I like to have my own private time. He's an orthodontist -he sees kids a lot-that's why he's the opposite."She deflects further questions with a laugh: "Don't find out too much about him. It's in the past."Indeed, there is a mellow air to Hsuan, who was in town last weekend to promote Starhub's cable channel VV Drama and to judge the local version of Hong Kong talent contest Minute To Frame.She last appeared in two TVB series, Just Love (2005) and A Handful Of Love (2004), and recently wrapped up fliming a yet-unnamed sequel to the 2003 drama Square Pegs with co-star Kwok Chun On.Over her 13-year career, she has also nabbed a slew of popularity awards in Hong Kong.But money and career, she now insists, are not everything.Explaining her newfound introspection, she says: "A few friends have been falling seriously ill and it reminds me to focus on other things."Being hospitalised in Zhuozhou in Hebei province, China, with a bout of cholera while shooting A Step Into The Past in 2001 was also an unpleasant wake-up call.She is now taking some time off from the gruelling drama circuit.
